Mastermind JAPAN is now available in a new high-end collaboration, for the second time with the professionals in customizations ROLEX Bamford Watch Department. Four years after the last time, the premium Japanese brand team worked with BWD to revive the classic design of the Daytona through the iconic mastermind style, opting for the traditional all-black branded on this version of the model characterized by construction titanium, and Cosmograph movement.

It is a watch that is best appreciated up close. I particularly love the skull under the Rolex logo on the dial. There are three sub-dials on the face of the watch and they are very subtly displayed that they don’t look like they have their own separate mechanisms. The chronographs are for hour, minute and seconds. The hour markers are all elevated silver rectangles freeing up more real estate on the dial that would have been occupied by numbers. The 12-hour mark is replaced by the regal Rolex logo. The hour, minute and second hands are all silver and very visible in contrast against the black dial. The bezel is all black with tachymeter markings. The crown is black too displaying the Rolex logo and is flanked by two round push buttons on either side.

The case of the watch is ion-plated stainless steel and so is the bracelet which is 190mm long and 20mm wide.
